Information Watchdog -  We keep track of pending legislation and state agency policy issues that could negatively or positively impact guides, camp owners, and outfitters.

Extensive Guide Training and Development Opportunities - MWGO is the leader in this area. This is an extremely important benefit, especially for new guides. Many trainings such as wilderness first aid are offered to MWGO members at discounted tuition.

Pro Purchase Plan – This plan enables professional members to purchase equipment at discounts off the retail price. Current manufacturers participating are Cabela's, DeLorme, Sterling Rope, and Maine craftsmen/women Alder Stream Canvas, Igas Island, Pole, Paddle and Canoe, and Mahoosuc Outfitters. We are constantly working to improve our pro deal plan.

Access to State Agencies – MWGO has board members on various LURC, DOC, and IF&W committees and boards to represent our members' interests. We are continually networking and developing contacts with other conservation minded guides, camp owners, and leaders from various non-profit groups who are working to conserve Maine’s natural resources.

Business Help – MWGO will help market your business through our extensive guide directory on the MWGO website and will provide links directly to your site.

Annual Guides Meeting/Banquet and periodic Rendezvous - MWGO holds an annual meeting and banquet where you can meet leaders of Maine’s conservation efforts and heads of various state agencies who draft policies that affect you and your business.
